For discerning clients who wish to enjoy their supercar on the stunning roads of Europe without the added mileage or time of driving there themselves, a dedicated transport service is the only solution. We provided a complete door-to-door concierge service for a client and their brand new McLaren 570S.
This week, Simon collected a customer's vehicle from London and personally transported it to Nice Côte d'Azur Airport ahead of their arrival.
A customer flying to the French Riviera, collecting their own car moments after landing, driving for 4 days around Europe, meeting Simon at the departutre ariport when Simon took the keys and transported the car back to London, while the customer flew home on a chartered flight.
Our customer walked out of the terminal, Simon was there waiting with the keys. No hire car queues, no paperwork, no unfamiliar vehicles. Just their own car, ready to go. After handing over the vehicle, Simon returned to our secure covered transporter and trailer before returning four days later to meet the customer back at a different airport. The vehicle was then carefully loaded and transported home to London.
For customers travelling to events, holidays, second homes, business meetings or extended stays, having your own vehicle available when you land can make the entire trip simpler and more enjoyable.
Capturing the Journey
The Outbound Journey: London to Nice
The mission began in the heart of central London, where we collected a customers McLaren. The vehicle was carefully loaded into our fully considered and specified enclosed trailer, ensuring complete protection from the elements, road debris, and unwanted attention throughout its continental journey.
From London, our route took us to the Eurotunnel for a swift crossing to France. The journey through France towards the Côte d'Azur required a single, planned overnight stop. The security of our client's asset is paramount; therefore, the vehicle was left within our locked, covered transporter, parked in a secure, pre-vetted location with surveillance, providing complete peace of mind.
After a total of two and a half days of travel, we arrived at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, ready to meet the client.
A Seamless Handover in the South of France
Our service is built around the client's schedule. The plan was to hand over the McLaren at the airport, allowing the owner to step off their flight and directly into their own car to begin a tour of Southern France with friends.
Flexibility is a key component of our concierge approach. The client messaged to inform us they would be arriving two hours earlier than originally scheduled. We adjusted our plans accordingly and were waiting at the terminal at the new time, ready to hand over the keys.
This level of adaptability ensures the client's plans are never compromised.
The Return Leg: Geneva to London
After four days of enjoying the car, the client's European tour concluded in Switzerland. We arranged to meet them at the drop-off point at Geneva Airport. As they prepared to board their flight home, we took collection of the McLaren.
The car was fully inspected, catalogued and images taken, then loaded and secured on our covered car transporter trailer for the return journey.
And now, back to London to meet the customer at thier home.
Transporting a high-value vehicle between the UK and the EU requires meticulous planning and management of customs paperwork. Failure to comply can result in significant delays or even the vehicle being impounded. Our team handles this entire process on the client's behalf.
"We take care of all the customs paperwork, all the formalities," explains our logistics expert. "We have to obtain the original V5C from the client. We then submit an oral declaration, together with a GMR and an ENS, to ensure that we don't get any issues when crossing the border."
These procedures are essential for both leaving and re-entering the UK. They serve as a declaration that the vehicle is being temporarily moved, not imported or exported, thereby ensuring that no import duties or taxes are incorrectly levied.
